The Heart of Europe

The World Islands are an artificial archipelago designed to resemble a map of the world, situated 4 kilometers off the coast of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

This ambitious project is a testament to modern engineering and Dubai’s innovative spirit, creating a unique and luxurious destination.

Construction of the World Islands commenced in September 2003, involving a monumental effort to transform a vision into reality. The project required an astounding 321 million cubic meters of sand, roughly the volume of 150 Major League Baseball stadiums. Additionally, 386 million tons of rock were used to create the breakwaters that protect the islands from the sea.

The total cost of the World Islands exceeded $14 billion, reflecting the scale and complexity of the undertaking. Each island represents a different country or region and is intended to house exclusive resorts, private residences, and commercial establishments, offering unparalleled luxury and privacy.

Despite the challenges faced during construction, including logistical hurdles and environmental concerns, the World Islands stand as a remarkable achievement. They symbolize Dubai’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in urban development and tourism.

The World Islands are not just a marvel of construction but also a unique tourist attraction, drawing visitors from around the globe. They offer an extraordinary experience, blending luxury with a sense of adventure and exclusivity. The project continues to evolve, with ongoing developments aimed at enhancing its allure and accessibility, ensuring it remains a premier destination for years to come.
