Nick Krull was engaged as a contractor by Amnesia to manage and execute the creation of a pre-launch promotional package for the Xbox 360. This project specifically required the production of a promotional DVD.
Given the technological constraints of 2005, the original footage provided was only in 720p resolution, which necessitated that the final DVD also be produced in standard definition. Nick’s responsibilities encompassed several critical tasks to ensure the DVD met the necessary quality and content standards.
Firstly, the footage was digitised, converted into a format suitable for detailed editing. This process involved careful handling to maintain the quality of the footage as much as possible. Once the footage was digitised, the editing process began, meticulously selecting and trimming clips to craft cohesive and engaging video segments that would be featured on the DVD.
In addition to video editing, Nick was responsible for creating exclusive composite designs for all the DVD menus. This aspect of the project involved designing interactive and visually appealing menu screens that would enhance the user experience, making it easy to navigate through the various video segments and additional content on the DVD.
The composite designs required creativity and a keen eye for detail to ensure they aligned with the Xbox 360’s branding and aesthetic standards. This involved not only graphic design skills but also an understanding of the DVD authoring process to ensure the menus functioned correctly when the DVD was played.
