Dior's Autumn-Winter 2020-2021 Haute Couture Collection
In these weird new times we are all having to evolve and do things differently. Well fashion is no different, and since physical runway shows can’t happen, Dior has created a visual fantasy to showcase their collection.
In the post war era when things were uncertain and materials were in short supply, Paris designers created garments at 1/3 the original size to fit dolls. This travelling show, the Théâtre de la Mode, travelled between Paris, London and the United States promoting the designers’ collections.
This year Dior’s womenswear creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, worked with Matteo Garrone, an Italian filmmaker, to create a short surrealist movie titled Le Mythe Dior. The 14 min short film includes a trunk filled with miniature dresses that mythical creatures select and are created by the talented team back at the atelier.

Watch the short film and the backstory below.
